The AI Pedestrian Detection Camera System helps operators be more aware of pedestrians working in the vicinity of materials handling equipment, in all environments.
It utilises up-to-date technology that is capable of differentiating between objects and pedestrians; the camera system is one of the most advanced pedestrian safety systems available. It is usually installed with one rear-facing camera on smaller machines (e.g. electric forklift truck), however, up to 4 cameras can be integrated to offer up to 360o coverage if required on larger vehicles (e.g. wheel loader, excavator, reachstacker).
The system works using an algorithm (AI) that detects moving and static pedestrians and alerts the operator to the presence of potential hazards. The in-cab screen outlines the position of the pedestrian/s and the distance from the vehicle giving the operator more confidence, helping to increase productivity, and greatly minimise incidents.
This kind of technology does not rely on the use of tags or high visibility vests to detect pedestrians, ensuring site wide coverage regardless of site PPE standards. Plant operators, owners and pedestrians are therefore protected on multi contractor sites and within busy environments at all times.

FAQs
An AI Pedestrian Detection Camera system helps equipment operators stay aware of pedestrians working near materials handling equipment by using artificial intelligence to tell people apart from other objects. It alerts the operator automatically whenever a person enters a monitored zone.
No, this technology does not rely on tags or high visibility vests to detect pedestrians, so it provides consistent coverage regardless of a site’s PPE standards. This makes it effective on multi contractor sites where equipment cannot be guaranteed on every visitor.
A single rear-facing camera is typically enough on smaller machines such as an electric forklift truck, while up to four cameras can be integrated for full 360 degree pedestrian detection on larger vehicles. This includes equipment like wheel loaders, excavators, and reach stackers.
A forklift pedestrian detection camera in this system supports up to three configurable detection zones covering a distance of up to 12 metres. The camera itself records in Full HD 1080p with a 140 degree horizontal viewing angle.
An AI Pedestrian Detection Camera can be installed on any handling equipment or industrial vehicle, including electric forklift trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, and reach stackers. Its flexible camera configuration makes it adaptable across different vehicle sizes.
An optional recorder is available for capturing images from the pedestrian detection camera system, which can support incident review or safety audits. This is not standard on every installation and can be added based on site requirements.
By reducing pedestrian and vehicle collisions and giving operators clear, real time alerts, the system reduces the need for constant manual caution and stoppages. This combination of protection and confidence helps sites maintain productivity while lowering incident rates.
